LED strip lights by the reel, 12 V and 24 V

LED strip lights are flexible circuit tapes with SMD LEDs, cut to length and stuck in place with their adhesive back. Installers use them for cove, shelf, display and sign lighting. We supply low-voltage 12 V and 24 V strips by the reel to installers, sign makers and distributors.

Quick answer

Our LED strips run on 12 V or 24 V DC, never on mains power. A common indoor strip is 8 mm wide with 60 SMD 3528 LEDs per metre, using 4.8 W/m (400 mA/m at 12 V). Choose IP20 for dry indoor places and IP65 where it may get wet; 24 V is better for long runs.

12 V or 24 V?

The same strip at 24 V draws half the current of its 12 V version, so the voltage drops less along the run and the far end stays as bright as the start. Use 24 V for long runs and 12 V where your system is already 12 V, such as signs fed by the same supply as their modules.

Picking a strip

More LEDs per metre give a smoother line of light and more output. 3528 and 2835 strips suit indirect and accent light; 5050 strips are brighter and come in RGB. Side-view strips light thin edges such as edge-lit acrylic letters. If you make your own strips, see SMD LEDs.

Low voltage only

We supply the strip, not the mains power supply. Buy a 12 V or 24 V DC supply approved in your country, sized to the total watts plus a margin.

Questions buyers ask

Can LED strips be cut?

Yes, at the cut marks printed on the strip, usually every few LEDs.

How many watts per metre?

It depends on the LED type and density: a 60 × 3528 strip uses about 4.8 W per metre. Every model's datasheet gives its value.

What is the price and minimum order?

We quote both per model and number of reels.
