SMD LEDs for strip, module and board makers
SMD LEDs are surface-mount LEDs placed by machine on circuit boards. They are the light source inside LED strips, modules and most lamps. We supply the common packages on reels to manufacturers.

The common SMD LED packages are 2835, 3528 and 5050 (the numbers are the size in tenths of a millimetre: 5050 is 5.0 × 5.0 mm). Each chip runs at about 1.9–2.3 V (red, yellow) or 3.0–3.4 V (white, blue, green) at 15–20 mA, with a 120° beam.

2835, 3528 or 5050?
The 3528 (3.5 × 2.8 mm) is the older small package used in low-power strips. The 2835 has the same footprint as a 3528 with a flat, wider body that handles more current and heat. The 5050 (5.0 × 5.0 mm) holds three chips, so it is brighter and can be RGB, with one colour per chip.
What to send us
The package, colour or colour temperature, brightness group if you bin, and the quantity on reels. If you are building a finished strip or module, we can also quote it ready made: see LED strip lights and LED modules.
Questions buyers ask
What does 5050 mean on an SMD LED?
The size: 5.0 × 5.0 mm. 3528 is 3.5 × 2.8 mm and 2835 is 2.8 × 3.5 mm.
Is a 5050 brighter than a 2835?
A 5050 has three chips, so per package it usually gives more light; a 2835 is more efficient per chip and runs cooler. Check the datasheet of each model.
What is the price and minimum order?
We quote both per package, colour and reel quantity.
